Around London in 48 hours

London, England, June 13, 2008

If you have to make the best of London in 48 hours, you have to know how to best manage your time. London city offers many attractions as well as extensive entertainment, so it's up to you to decide what is better, not to forget that English weather is always there to spoil your plans!

If you are keen to get an overview of the most famous London places, take a Bus Tour. It is an easy way to travel, see places, take pictures and learn some history through all the beautiful historical places in London. The good thing about these lovely red double-decker buses in London is that you can hop-off and hop-on whenever you want (at the main sightseeing points). So if you want to explore London Trafalgar Square, you can easily jump off the bus and then have a peak at the National Gallery or the National Portrait Gallery. The Original Bus Tour Company also offers a free Thames Cruise which is great for the day one. It is a good idea to reserve a restaurant table if you want to experience London's multicultural cuisine. Nothing can be worse than a poor meal after an intense day.

It is important to stay at central London hotels should you decide to visit London in 2 days only. It will save you time as many places from central areas are within walking distance or a short underground ride. Paddington hotels are popular among short-term visitors as the Heathrow Express from the Paddington Station takes only 15 minutes to the airport.

It is worth visiting at least one museum while you are in London. All of them are very extensive with rich collections, so the best way is to pick one. The British Museum is worth visiting as well as the National History or Science Museum.

A good choice is to dedicate one of your two evenings to the West End experience. Just pick up a show (the most popular ones are Chicago, Wicked, The Lord of the Rings, Wicked, Mamma Mia, Billy Elliot) and book an after-show dinner at a nearby restaurant. It is a great choice for theatre lovers and the dinner will let you share the impressions.

Visit London in 48 hours and you will have a pleasurable and a memorable stay!
