Outdoor Films in London
Enjoy the long summer evenings in London at one of the fabulous outdoor cinemas. There is a selection of films being screened all over the city to suit everyone's taste.
Somerset House London (29 July - 8 Aug)
During the months of July and August, Somerset House located on the Strand in central London will be projecting the Film 4 Summer Series. The films range from retro classics to modern hits and are shown on a huge screen that overlooks the fountain square.
The Scoop London (15 Sept - 1 Oct)
Situated in the centre of London near the riverside, the Scoop is an amphitheatre that seats up to 800 people. This year nine films will be shown for free every Wednesday, including Dirty Dancing, Up in the Air, The Bourne Ultimatum and Pretty Woman.
Syon Park London (18 - 22 Aug)
Syon Park is located outside of central London near Richmond and for five evenings classic films and modern hits will be shown in the park's gardens. The setting is a beautiful Grade I listed landscape at the home of the Duke of Northumberland's. A popular location for enjoying a picnic before the film, the park opens at 7:30pm with the film commencing at 9pm. There is a fee of £10 in advance or £12.50 on the day.
Starlite Urban Drive-In London
Starlite Urban Drive-In in London is a new concept that revamps the classic 'drive-in' cinema experience with a twist. Based in central London at the Truman Brewery, 25 Volvo cars are supplied which seat a maximum of 2 people per car. Waitresses on roller skates provide the snacks as you sit back and watch classics such as Grease.
National Theatre London (31 Jul - 22 Aug)
A series of films will be shown on the Flytower of the National Theatre
on London's Southbank on Fridays and Saturdays during August. Some of the films shown are from the BFI National Archives.
