London Post Offices

You can post letters or parcels at local post offices in London or if you already have the stamps you can place the article in the red cylindrical shaped Royal Mail post boxes, often located on street corners.

Stamps can be purchased from the post offices or local newsagents. You will have the option of sending letters first or second class by London post offices. First class mail generally reaches it's UK destination the following day, whereas second class mail will arrive within two days of being posted.

To find out the address of a post office near you, call this number. You will need to provide them with the postcode of where you are staying (e.g. EC1A..) You will then be given a list of post offices in the area with their addresses and telephone numbers.

In addition to the main London post offices, there are also sub-post offices which are located within newsagents and pharmacies.

Most Post Offices in London are open between 9.00-17.30, Monday-Friday, and 9.00-12.30 on Saturday.
