Swan Lake Australian Ballet, LondonTchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" is arguably the very best known and most popular ballet - certainly so each year it returns to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. This year's production is a revival of Anthony Dowell's endearing production first performed in 1987 and its return marks the beginning of the new Royal Ballet Season at the Royal Opera House - reminiscent of the 19th century when "Swan Lake" was first staged in the hey days of Imperial Russian ballet.

There is, happily, no attempt to modernise this very popular and spectacular ballet with its fairy-tale like version of a truly classic love story in which white costumed dancers sweep majestically across the stage to one of Tchaikovsky's best known and best loved scores. The Royal Opera House setting lends itself to a superb set to provide the backdrop to an emotionally charged performance from the Royal Ballet.

"Swan Lake" is not performed on all days during the period but can be seen on the following days at 7.30 p.m. - advance booking is, of course, necessary for this popular ballet: Saturday 4th Oct, Monday 6th Oct, 7.30pm Tuesday 7th Oct, Wednesday 8th Oct, Thursday 9th Oct, Monday 21st Oct, Tuesday 22nd Oct and Saturday 25th Oct.
