Statuephilia at the British Museum London will contribute to the permanent collection and will feature five major works by exceptional artists that will be displayed in the gallery until 25th January 2008.

The museum which features one of the world's most celebrated collections of sculptures, has consistently engaged with the contemporary world since its foundation in the 18th century.

Statuephilia will present Antony Gormley's Case for an Angel I (1989) that echoes many works in the museum and impressive Ron Mueck's Mask II (2008) will be displayed in the neighbourhood of an enormous stone statue from Rapa Nui.

Marc Quinn's golden Kate Moss, a modern-day goddess whose likeness has become iconic, will also be at the display at the British Museum London. Damien Hirst will present his Cornucopia (2008) collection of 200 unique spin-painted plastic skulls, and Noble and Webster will surprise with their Dark Stuff (2008).

Statuephilia at the London British Museum will reflect on the contemporary art in relation to history and ancient art and our understanding of it.
