St Patricks Day London Parade Join in the fun on Sunday 16 March, 2009 to celebrate with St Patrick's Day London parade, the biggest London festival event in England! The parade starts at 12 noon and will follow the route from Park Lane to Hyde Park Corner down Piccadilly on to Regent Street by Trafalgar Square and dispersing in Whitehall Place.

The streets of London on St Patricks Day will be transformed into a huge fun crowd including a full parade of floats, marching bands, costume characters, stilt walkers, dancers and street theatre as they make their way through central London. Spectators can enjoy live music and performances along the parade route.

People on the parade will then be able to join the St Patrick's Day festival, which will be celebrated taking place in Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and Covent Garden from 12 noon to 6pm. Trafalgar Square will be home to traditional and modern Irish entertainment, with dance and music and crafts creating a lively atmosphere, and a largest Irish travel exhibition in Britain on show, to tempt you into travelling to the emerald isle itself.

In Covent Garden, be sure to indulge in Irish treats at the Irish specialty food market, open over St Patricks Day weekend. Plenty of delicious food and drink will be on sale, giving Londoners a taste of Irish traditions, and reminding ex pats of what they could be having back home in Ireland. And in Leicester Square, this will be your chance to learn the Irish dance Ceili. Seems like an event not to be missed. The St Patrick's Day parade and festival make an excellent day out for families and are a great chance for all Londoners as well as visitors to celebrate. It certainly looks like a fun filled day with various activities from parade, food market, music and dance for the whole family and for friends to enjoy.
