Several separate birthday celebrations in London are held to recognise the world-famous playwright and poet William Shakespeare. From the much-loved Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London Bankside to Shakespeare's birthplace house in Stratford-upon-Avon; there are many great activities, including parades and plays, to celebrate William Shakespeare's birthday in London.
On William Shakespeare's Birthday, a schedule of activities is held in the run-up as well as the closest weekend to Shakespeare's Birthday on 23rd April. For 2013, details of different birthday celebrations in London have yet to be released; however some of last years' celebrations included an exhibition, Stratford walking tours, children folk dancing, a marathon and many more.
