The Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance will be held on 8th November 2008, at the Royal Albert Hall. This is one of the two famous festivals, which are held at Royal Albert Hall in London every year. These two poignant events are held as a remembrance for all the people, especially servicemen, who died for their country in the First World War. The Royal British Legion, UK is a very moving experience for those who participate in it. The occasion is replete with historical undertones and sentimentality.

The initial service of remembrance in this festival of the heart will be thrown open to the general public. However, the second service will be exclusively for British military officers, veterans, The Queen, royalty and patrons of the Royal kingdom. There is a heartbreaking and beautiful tradition of releasing million red poppies onto the watching audience in the final moments of this event. This is done to remember all those who fought and died for their country in the First World War. This great event is usually followed by a remembrance ceremony at the cenotaph. The cenotaph becomes the focus of Britain's remembrance service every November, for commemorating all the servicemen who died for the British Empire, in the two world wars.
