An ancient favourite of the London art year, the Academy Summer Exhibition is the world's largest open-submission contemporary art exhibition. It runs from 10 June to 18 August 2013.
Now in its 245th year, it continues the institution of showcasing effort by both emerging and established artists in all media including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, architecture and film.
The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition is bringing to light of the RA's summer with its yearly celebration of the greatest of British art and sculpture. With works from all media, by popular and completely unknown artists, the show is a unique and much loved show.
More than 150,000 visitors a year come to the summer exhibition at the Royal Academy to like around 1,200 works by established and unknown existing artists.
