A global event, the Red Bull Flugtag 2009 will be back in London for the second time on Saturday, 7th June 2009 from 1.00 pm onwards, at The Serpentine, Hyde Park. Organised by Red Bull, this event showcases the engineering and creative talents of amateur inventors and daredevil pilots as they design, construct and fly their own man-powered aircrafts.

The participants have been selected from the North and South of UK, Scotland, Wales, and The Midlands. These 40 competing teams are currently engaged in constructing their flying machines which they will launch off a 6 m high ramp into the cool waters of The Serpentine Lake. The winners of the Red Bull Flugtag Championship will be selected on the basis of the pre-flight performance, distance flown, as well as the efforts and creativity involved in making these aircrafts.
