The Union flag is hoisted on government buildings, salutes are fired from locations in London and other authorised stations in the United Kingdom. In London, cannon and gun shots will be fired across the green expanse of Hyde Park and at The Tower of London. Salutes are fired by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery (41 Gun Royal Salute) in Hyde Park at 12.00 noon and a 62-gun royal salute fired by the Honourable Artillery Company at the Tower of London (on London Wharf). If any of these occasions fall on a Sunday, the Salutes are fired on the following day as no Royal Gun Salutes are fired on Sundays.
