As many people's minds start to turn towards the notion of hitting the slopes this coming winter, along comes the Metro Ski and Snowboard Show at London's Olympia to view all the "must haves" for the coming season along with much, much more. The show is in its 37th year and dramatically turns Olympia's Grand Hall and Balcony into a giant snow dome to provide the backdrop for visitors to learn everything about skiing and snowboarding, the clothes needed along with the chance to book skiing trips at excellent value prices.

Not just an exhibition but an exciting event with rumours of an Ice Kingdom this year, complete with the appropriate Ice Bar and a jump where skilled skiers get some big air and the chance to perform jumps over a split in the snow. The huge ski slopes which will dominate the exhibition halls see the return of real snow to create a fun exhibition along with a great spectator sport that the children can enjoy. Anyone under eleven goes free and there is even a crèche to keep the young ones entertained. Children can also get their first experience of skiing on the teaching slopes in the gentle care of experts and can have their photo taken in an igloo booth along with seeing real live husky dogs (during the week only) at work.

Whether your preference is skiing or snowboarding, this is the major event of the year at which to brush up those skills not used for many months at to catch up on the "must haves" in preparation for the season ahead.
