The Lord Mayor's Show 2014 in London

8th November 2014 - 8th November 2015
Mansion House, City of London, City, EC4N 8BH

The Lord Mayor's Show 2014 in London is a preeminent annual event and grand procession through the streets of the city. For almost the last eight centuries, the show has been going on every year and is firmly rooted in the colourful history of the capital. The Lord Mayor's Show in London encompasses over 6,000 people, in excess of 140 elaborately decorated floats and veteran artists in addition to the momentous and ornately glided State Coach carrying the Lord Mayor himself.

The starting point of the parade is Mansion House - the official house and workplace of the Mayor during his or her incumbency. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and is preceded by the Royal Air Force's special flypast. The parade winds its way past St. Paul's Cathedral and the Royal Courts of Justice (the Old Bailey to you and me) to Victoria Embankment and returns to Mansion House at about 2.30pm.

Undoubtedly The Lord Mayor's Show in London is the most famous amongst all similar London events; the show outdoes them all in every respect, of which the breathtaking fireworks display is just a part. Probably the most exquisite and striking public fireworks display, the display can be clearly seen from nearby Embankment or Gabriel's Wharf (on the other side of the river).

One of the very best vantage points is within the public gallery of the Oxo Tower. To get seats you will need to be there early as limited numbers of seats get occupied very fast. The display sees many barges overstocking with explosive fireworks, steering out in the River Thames to places between Waterloo Bridges and Blackfriars. The grand finale of The Lord Mayor's Show in London is the fireworks display itself which starts at 5 pm.
