The Graduate Fashion Week will end with the award ceremony where the winning student will get an astounding £20,000. This award is the prestigious River Island Gold Award and is the most sought after prize by all fashion design graduates.

River Islands is dedicated to investing in young talent because this investment brings forth rich dividends in both creative as well as commercial interests. River Island has an open door policy, which encourages fashion design graduates to work with the in-house design team and work on their degree program as well. This co-activity results in developing ideas many of which have become best sellers in the industry.

The Graduate Fashion Week 2009 will be held at the Earls Court 2 this year. The Earls Court is the preferred showcase for well known events that include the Vodafone Live Music Awards, The BRIT Awards and many concerts where stars such as Kaiser Chiefs, Madonna and Justin Timberlake have performed to the foot taping of thousands of fans.

The Earls Court will feature 48 of the UK's top fashion and textile universities starting with its new dateline Sunday the 8th of June to the 12th of June. This program will include one static exhibition and 2 theatres that will be hosting 23 shows in a period of 4 days. The event will conclude with some Gala Fashion Shows and of course the Award Ceremony on the 11th of June.
