First established in 1948 as a way for the British public so see and learn about the best of British aviation engineering, Farnborough International Airshow has become the premier global show event for everything connection with aerospace. The 46th event celebrates its 60th anniversary that is sure to attract the usual mix of aviation professionals, industry senior executives as well as aviation enthusiasts and general public eager to see the top event of its kind.Farnborough International Airshow has always been run with a mix of static displays that enables visitors to get up close to the same aircraft that then often also fly in the afternoon display itself. On industry days - 14th to 18th July inclusive - executives are able to arrange demonstration flights in the aircraft and the show usually includes announcements of lucrative orders for aerospace manufacturers, both large and small.
On public days - 19th and 20th July - the static aircraft can be seen through the day and the flying display starts at 12.30p.m. and lasts for around 4.5 hours. Comprising a wide variety of aircraft from European, American and Russian manufacturers, this year's show will include a look back at some of the successes of previous shows as well as include a number of the very latest aircraft and, of course, the Red Arrows carrying out their exciting display.
