Emperor and Galilean in London National Theatre depicts the struggle of Emperor Julian as he tries to reach spiritual fulfilment. A free-thinker believing Christianity has bound humanity with fear, Julian ties in vain to destroy the religion; turning himself into a tyrant.
Ironically advancing the cause of Christianity, Emperor Julian leaves behind a legacy that has shaped today's world.
