It is 200 years since Charles Darwin's birth and this Theory of Evolution remains the backbone of our perceptive of ourselves and the world around us evolved and how we might expect it to continue to evolve in future.

Where better to celebrate Charles Darwin's bicentennial than at the Natural History Museum - that grand edifice on Cromwell Road with its world famous elaborate Gothic facade? Darwin travelled widely to develop his theory of evolution and the exhibition includes his notebooks, fossils he collected on his journeys as well as some personal belongings.

Despite his fascination with the natural world and his travels to unlock secrets, Darwin was a family person and had 10 children. The exhibition aims to portray something of Darwin the man as well as Darwin the scientist from his family pictures and letters. The Natural History Museum is also permanent home to the Darwin Centre where one can find over 22 million varieties of zoological specimens and try to challenge the museum's scientists with your questions during live discussions and demonstrations.
