Tate Britain, London is a home to the British art from 1500 to the present day and is a part of the Tate gallery network in Britain.
The gallery was recognised as the Tate Gallery after its originator Sir Henry Tate. Officially, it was named the National Gallery of British Art when it opened in the late 1890s at Millbank, London.
After 1955, Tate became autonomous from the National Gallery and nowadays, Tate Gallery has become a family unit of four galleries. Tate Gallery Britain, London carries on caring, expanding and offering communal admissions to its national compilations of British art sculptures and international fresh and modern-day art.
The Turner Prize is a modern art reward held at Tate Britain, London that has aggravated arguments ever since it's beginning in 1984. Each stage of the prize generates media coverage, and there have also been a number of demonstrations against the prize.
