London is always a hotbed of activity and is a popular place for film premieres and is a great chance to see celebrities up close, on the red carpet.
The summer is an ideal time for movie releases and film premieres and this year has been no exception. The following films have recently hosted their premieres in London at Leicester Square
Toy Story 3
The Scoop London (15 Sept - 1 Oct)
The UK Premiere of Toy Story 3 was held on Sunday 18 July at the Odeon, Leicester Square complete with life-size characters woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie. Although the main cast starring Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were not in attendance, director, Lee Unkrich and producer, Darla K Anderson were at the London Premiere. Kate Garraway of GMTV and Rod Stewart's wife Penny Lancaster attended the premiere with their children.
The hugely popular film of the '80s has been remade starring the wonderful Jackie Chan and Will Smith's son, Jaden Smith who reportedly did all the Kung Fu moves and stunts himself. The Karate Kid Premiere in London was held at the Odeon West End, Leicester Square and was attended by Jackie Chan and the Smith family including Jaden, sister, mum and Will. Celebrities included Natalie Portman, Tinchy Stryder, Dizzee Rascal and X-Factor runner up, Stacey Soloman.
At the beginning of July, Leonardo DiCaprio was in town to promote his latest film release, Inception. Sir Michael Caine and director, Christopher Nolan were also at the Inception Premiere in London along with Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hardy. The film has an interesting premise based on thieves who steal secrets from people's dreams.
There are sure to be many more film premieres in London, so for the best chance of seeing the stars up close, head to Leicester Square in London!
