London Harrods Becomes the Emerald City
People who shop at Harrods in London are used to turning others green with envy but this Christmas, the whole store will be turning green with emeralds! To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the classic film, Harrods in London will transform itself into the Emerald City from the Wizard of Oz, ready for Christmas.
All of the 11,500 white bulbs on the Harrods façade will turn green on Thursday 29 October to mark the beginning of London's Christmas retail period. Dannii Minogue will do the honours of starting the enchanting illuminations alongside the famous Harrods Chairman, Mohammed Al Fayed.
Straying from the yellow brick road, Dorothy and friends will spread magic through Knightsbridge London as they attend special launches and exclusive events during the Christmas festivities.
Harrods Emerald Palace will also be doing its bit for charity by supporting Great Ormond Street Children's Charity, helping to share the Christmas magic with children in need. All our
London hotels are in the city centre, within easy walking distance of Harrods.
