UCI Cinemas

UCI is one of the world's leading cinema exhibition groups. The Group is a joint venture owned equally by Universal and Paramount, both of whom have a great deal of heritage and a deep understanding of the entertainment industry. UCI specialise in the multiplex segment of the film exhibition market and we have achieved a leading position in all the major territories in which we operate.

UCI has cinemas in the UK, Ireland, Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Japan, Taiwan and Brazil and we are actively seeking opportunities all over the world.

We are committed to maintaining our status as the pre-eminent force in cinema exhibition around the world. As competition intensifies on a global basis, UCI is responding with a new generation of cinema that includes premier seating and bar facilities, digital projection and IMAX screens. UCI constantly strive to develop and offer our guests what we believe will become the cinema of the future.

In the UK, the concept of new generation cinema is leading developments for UCI in the rest of the world and has already been introduced!

UCI Norwich opened its doors on November 26 1999 and proved its popularity from day one. The Gallery at Norwich was our first premier offering. It was designed to give guests a choice of cinema environment and The Gallery package includes admittance to an exclusive bar with a variety of free refreshments. Guests to The Gallery sit in their luxurious seats - wider than the standard seats. The concept of The Gallery has since been introduced to UCI Maidenhead and will also feature at thefilmworks, Manchester and Greenwich.

Now open in Manchester, our second 20 screen cinema - thefilmworks located at The Printworks. This cinema not only includes a Gallery offering and Digital Projection, but is also the only multiplex operation in the UK to offer IMAX. And at 23 metres high by 26 metres wide, this is the UK's largest cinema screen! Our cinema at The Printworks is the first thefilmworks - next generation cinema.

These developments are truly state of the art technologies and they will ensure that UCI Cinemas continue to be a leading influence in the world of film exhibition.
